Welcome to Hurn Bridge EC

Hurn Bridge Farm on the Malmesbury Estate evolved in 1984 as Hurn Bridge Equestrian Centre (HBEC) at retirement of very long standing tenant farmers, the Ayles family. Ann Stear put forward to the landowner, The Viscount FitzHarris, the idea to create the Hurn Bridge yard after a successful diversification programme from dairy parlour to stables of Home Farm yard 10 years earlier.

Ann has since semi-retired and her daughter Linda has taken over the reins to continue running the yard concentrating on the wellbeing of the horses, whilst Patrick Stear, Ann's husband, still carries out the all important day to day maintenance of the establishment.

The convertion of the original farm buildings created an office, stables, mess room and facilities, and an independently run saddlery/feed shop. The yard grew further and an American Barn was constructed for loose box stabling together with a large all weather (Pasada) arena with flood lights. More recently the arena was re-surfaced with Turfloat, and the arena lights updated. HBEC has developed into a community of private horse owners who all enjoy the benefits of these purpose built and well maintained facilities.

HBEC is primarily for people wishing to keep their horses on a DIY Stable Livery or Grazing basis, which enables owners to have that precious daily contact and the one to one ownership that caring for a horse is all about. Our livery clients would agree that horses settle in very well to the environment at Hurn Bridge Farm. Whether you like competing or are happy to relax and hack with your four legged companion we hope that you will feel at home keeping you horse at livery here.
